I had this thought about my taxi driver, “Tell him about me.”  Sensing it’s God, I consider, “If he says something about the Bible I will.”

The next words out of his mouth are, “It says in the Bible …” I begin to tell him about Jesus and what he can do to have a relationship with God. He doesn’t really respond.  I go inside my house, and about ten minutes later, I see the cab is still in the driveway.  The guy has his hands lifted up in surrender to Jesus.

The Holy Spirit wants to work through us to reach anyone and everyone.  We live in a confused and hurting world.  People are lonely, tired and under attack.  The world needs the power of God’s love to bring life to the hurting.

In Acts 19:11-20, we see the Apostle Paul perform miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit through a thoroughly kingdom centered life.  Paul’s obedience expands the Kingdom of God, his perfect rule, reign and authority with love on this earth.  The people saw that followers of Jesus who are filled with the Holy Spirt have power.  They turn from seeking life in other sources and surrender to Jesus as King of their lives to have a relationship with God.  They burn almost $4 million dollars worth of stuff into a bonfire.  The only reason to throw away that kind of wealth is because they found a treasure much more valuable than money.

God has enduring wealth for us as we surrender to Jesus as king of our lives and pursue the Kingdom of God.  Like a good earthly father who hides Easter baskets for his kids to find,  God has his treasures hidden for us to discover, not hidden from us to never find.  When we live a life hunting down the valuables God has hidden for us in the Kingdom of God, we will set not only ourselves but others free to discover this treasure.
